The European Coordinating Action on Key Aerodynamic Technologies

This site provides members of the European aerodynamics research and development community with access to information on KATnet II related activities and, through our Member's area, the opportunity to participate in it’s initiatives.

KATnet II is a co-ordinating action on Key Aerodynamic Technologies supporting the ACARE Vision 2020, and in particular, it’s Strategic Research Agenda. The objective is to identify and assess those aerodynamic technologies that are needed to reach the Vision 2020 goals, and to be the European focus for these technologies. The results of this work will be reported in a strategy paper, which will be delivered to ACARE and other influential organisations in the field.

KATnet II addresses all disciplines concerned with aerodynamic performance improvement to:

• Provide a communications platform.


• Enhance information exchange.


• Identify research and development priorities and strategies.

• Aircraft Configuration Technologies.


• Drag Reduction Technologies.


• Flow Separation Control Technologies.
