What is the purpose of the KATnet web site?

The KATnet web site has been developed by the KATnet Thematic Network through funding from the European Commission. The web site provides a mechanism through which members of the European Aerodynamics community can gain access to information concerning a range of issues associated with European Aerospace. In addition to providing information on topical issues and events the site is intended to provide a means for individuals to keep abreast of KATnet initiatives (including Workshops, Conferences and R & D projects) and to participate actively in the formulation of technical research strategies for the future through, for example, access to draft KATnet strategy documents and the ability to contribute to their formulation. Features of the site including the fully searchable databases, the Member's Forum and the ability for Members to contribute to material published on the site are intended to allow for direct networking and communication between the members as well as with the members of the KATnet Thematic Network. The success and potential of the site is very much in the hands of the European Research Community through their use and participation of the site's features. To maximise the benefits to be gained from such a "networking" facility it is up to the Membership to participate as actively as possible. Return to contents list

Who can become a member of the KATnet web site?

Registration for Membership of the KATnet web site is open to all students, scientists, engineers and managers (both active and retired) who have an interest in aerospace aerodynamics. While the site is specifically relevant to Europe there is no objection to individuals from elsewhere in the world becoming Members. However, those from a non-European background should be aware that the site focuses on predominantly European issues. Return to contents list
